What does EDP mean?
Consolidated general government debt according to European statistical rules. Municipal debt must not be added to EDP again.
One place where we explain why Polska na Raty exists, where the figures come from and how to read them fairly.
This project helps citizens understand national and local finances without searching through hundreds of pages of official reports.
We collect figures from official sources, explain what they mean and show the reporting period. If a number cannot be reliably verified, we clearly mark the data as unavailable.
These are liabilities of the general government sector. EDP debt already includes local governments, so their debt must not be added again.
No. It is a statistical average, not a personal liability.
Borrowing may finance investment or cover a funding gap. Debt alone does not tell us whether finances are managed well.
Revenue exceeded expenditure during that period. It does not mean debt was automatically repaid.
Each figure has a reference period. Official data is published with a delay, and the website publication date is not the measurement date.
Actual results describe a past period. WPF contains financial plans, while GUS provides population scenarios; future values may change.
For each dataset, you can check its source and reporting period. We publish only information whose origin we have verified.

Debt may be reported quarterly, GDP annually, and population on another date. We show actual reference dates rather than suggesting all figures share one date.
